For the past eighteen years of my life, I’ve written professionally for publication. By the end of 2025, I will have published over 205 books. That’s quite an accomplishment and I’m proud of it. I’ve joined the greats such as Agatha Christie and Barbara Cartland, just to name two. Over the past several years, I’ve specialized in writing historical romantic suspense, as well as regular historical romance—Regency and Victorian eras. To date, my most popular series are the Colors of Scandal series, the Storme Brothers series, Singular Sensation series, Diamonds of London series as well as reader favorite Mary and Bright series. Adventures, romance with older characters, exploring mental illnesses, otherwise abled people, and adding intrigue and suspense to my romances are generally the order of my days. I hope you’ll check them out. Right now, I’m a hybrid author, which basically means I write a handful of books each year for Dragonblade Publishing as well as self-publishing the bulk of my books under my indie label of New Independence Publishing. It’s the best of both worlds.
When I’m not writing, I read. I hoard books like they’re going out of style and my Kindle Paperwhite is bursting with them. What can I say? I love reading, which is one of the reasons why I’m a writer. I’ve always had a love affair with the English language in general and vocabulary in particular. One of the reasons why I began writing was to write the sort of story lines and see the sort of characters I wanted to get lost in. They weren’t on the market way back when, and honestly, they’re still not out there, so I’m filling that gap. I try to tell the stories and give marginalized peoples a voice. They deserve happy endings too. Readers appreciate that.
What do I do when not connected to the book world? I bake! Cookies, cakes, lasagna, whatever. Cooking frees my mind and gets the creative juices flowing. There’s nothing more rewarding than pulling a dish out of the oven in all its golden, brown, and delicious glory. When I suffer from plot problems, the kitchen’s the first place I head. I’ve also opened a gourmet homemade cookies through my Sweets by Sandra company. Just email me or PM me on FB!
None of this would be possible without my husband. Wind beneath my wings and all that. I’ve been married twenty-two years to the most wonderful, patient, funny guy in the world. It’s his fault I’m a published writer, so if you see him around the web, make sure to thank him! We have no children or pets, but my husband and I call Central Indiana home. If you can’t find us here, we’re probably laughing like kids and setting our imaginations free in Walt Disney World, or wandering around the rest of the United States finding inspiration.
